Wayment! Andy Cohen is disclosing on one of his huge regrets and chile it involves Oprah Winfrey.
An outlet stated that Andy Cohen is commemorating the 15th anniversary of his Bravo series, ‘Watch What Happens Live.’ The live late-night interactive show features guests from entertainment, politics and pop culture.
To mark this significant milestone, Cohen is reflecting on both the highs and lows of his career. While the show has created numerous unforgettable moments, one of the most memorable appearances was by Oprah Winfrey in 2013.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Andy showed how significant it was to have Oprah on the show.
“This was a biggest moment for me and for the show. I’m such a fan of Oprah,” Andy said.
But, when speaking to media, Andy stated that everything was going well until he thought to ask Oprah if she had ever “taken a dip in the lady pond.”
It meant so much to me that Oprah Winfrey did the show. It’s gone brilliantly and I turn around and questioned her if she’s every had sex with a woman. I mean, couldn’t I leave it alone?”
Andy further elaborated that the moment and question stood out as one of his few regrets, in spite of it being a question he typically posed to guests.
In the 2013 interview, Oprah quickly responded to Andy’s question with a direct answer.
“No, no I have not. Thank you.”
As per to a media, the talk show host continued to divulge more information about his interview with Oprah, mentioning that he heard from her bestie Gayle King shortly afterward.
“Gayle King told me later that week that Oprah didn’t know what I meant by the lady pond. I thought I explained it pretty well there, but listen, I was so thankful that Oprah did the show and I still am. That remains, I think, my favorite episode.”
Andy not just shared his most cringeworthy moment on ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ but also disclosed his favorite guests, additionally Patti LuPone.
The producer also explained that he thinks ‘Watch What Happens Live’ has maintained its success due to its spontaneity and authenticity.
“The secret to the success of ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ I think, is spontaneity, authenticity, fun, humor, me going there and people never knowing what’s gonna happen. People let their guard down here. It’s also live, we’re on at night, we serve alcohol,” Cohen explained.
