“Ima do a public deal with the city of Philadelphia where 10% of my music earning money go to the city of Philadelphia to combat gun violence in our city … ima about to start this movement! PIP PHAT GEEZ,” Meek wrote.

“Ain’t nothing stopping me from talking the way I rap…. numerous of my friends got killed already,” he included.

“I want to do [a] deal with the city of Philadelphia!” he later said.

This is just the recent example of Meek using his platform and status to help his city. Previously, Meek showed his support for Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker after a mass shooting that left eight teenagers injured in the city.

In a answer to Mayor Parker who said “enough is enough” on a local news outlet about the ongoing violence in the city. Meek shared on X that she has his support.

“I want to help her, especially with education,” Meek’s post read. “I have aim of working with the Yas Foundation with Dream Chasers Academy to offer these kids resources with technology and to travel outside of that environment to understand life! I’m in on reform ima joined to support with education!”

“If you black or brown talk about this … it’s kids that’re gonna pick up guns because they think they’re going to die before they turn 21 for a gun license,” he said later. “You will go from Xbox to Glock because of your environment … and get locked up trying to survive it. It’s terrible!”
