Ex- NFL cornerback Vontae Davis was found irresponsive by police Monday at his home in South Florida.
Officers were called to the home in Southwest Ranches after a house assistant discover the athlete. Davie Police Department says that at this time, foul play is not involved however that the investigation is going on.
Davis was just 35-year-old.
He played in 121 games during his 10 years with the Miami Dolphins, Colts and Buffalo Bills.
The NFL publish a statement following the sadness.
“The NFL is heartbroken to know about the death of Vontae Davis. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones,” they said.
“We are devastated to hear of Vontae Davis’s death. He was a standout player in his 6 seasons with the Horseshoe, but he was an even better teammate who carried a smile and positive energy every day. He will be deeply missed, and we send our prayers to his family and loved ones,” a statement from The Colts read.
