Diarra Brickland is a Detroit schoolteacher on the brink of divorce. She’s eager and hasn’t had a full eight hours of sleep in months. Just after moving back to her family home, she’s nearly the victim of a home invasion, but she and her burglar felt they know each other from the old days. His name is Danger.

They have a small reunion where she shares that her spouse suggested an open wedding. Diarra moved out and they haven’t spoken in 3 months. Danger suggests she sees his therapist. You know you’re down bad when the person who just tried to rob you recommends therapy.

At the suggestion of her colleague Mr. Tea, Diarra finds herself on Tinder. But she’s still angry over the separation and channels that into breaking up a student fight, where she catches a stray punch, a black eye and a reprimand from her principal.

Diarra taps into white male anger by listening to Eminem on the way house, and her loud cursing attracts the attention of “Crazy Moni,” Diarra’s childhood frenemy. Moni is a mother now and wants Diarra to watch her language around the kids. In the middle of their argument, Moni opened Danger has been telling Diarra’s business, additionally the divorce.

Diarra confronts Danger, saying she forgave him for the home invasion, however talking trash about her to Crazy Moni is a bridge too far. She busts his aquarium before leaving, but that still doesn’t provide the media for her anger and frustration.
